History and Geography

These two subjects are interlinked with cross-curricular topics. We follow the programmes of study defined in National Curriculum documents and follow the QCA schemes.

In history children study human events and lifestyles from the past, look at artefacts and evidence and find similarities and differences. In geography children study their own and contrasting localities, learn about settlements, how to recognise geographical features and develop map skills.

The pictures below show our visit to Bede’s World, near Jarrow, where we went while studying Anglo Saxon and Viking raiders.
