School Council

Bassenthwaite School recognises the importance of the pupil voice and their involvement in the decision making process of the school. The school has a democratically elected council. All the pupils of the school are asked to vote for two members of their class after hearing their Manifesto. The School Council presents their minutes of meetings to the Governors putting forward pupil’s views and suggestions.

The school council is for everyone in Bassenthwaite School. If someone is worried or hurt they can go to the school council. The school councillors raise money for the school, they have lots of fund raising events run by the councillors. The children think of ideas to raise money. The council meetings are held every term.
